Beachbody P90X Message Boards

There are 66 pages of threads on P90X with posts by everyone from a 63 year old woman who did 90X, to average guys and gals, runners, triathletes and my favorite X-Athletes. X-Athletes are athletes from virtually every sport who have embraced P90X and incorporated it into their training, realizing the incredible benefits to their fitness, strength, flexibility and their ability to play their chosen sports at a higher level.

With all of those posts, why not just go to the Beachbody P90X Message Boards yourself and check them out. If you like what you read and you decide to get P90X, you can either click here and buy if from me (I am an Independent Beachbody Coach) and help me support my family or you can buy it directly from Beachbody (they might have a special offer). Either way, P90X is a journey that I highly recommend that you take this first step on if you find out from your reading that it is something that would benefit you as it has me.

I am about to start my P90X, that’s right Day 1 starts tomorrow. Tonight was filled with getting the food I need, and getting rid of the junk I was still hanging onto. I am all about following the nutrition plan to the T, however I am confused on how long I should be eating on each phase of the plan. From the way it reads it is only a 3 week plan, or do I split them into months? Anyone have the answer?

Each phase is 30 days. But from what I understand you can move from 2 to 3 earlier or later. But it’s designed to be 30 days each. Hope that helps! I started my program Monday.

This is my third week on P90X. I am doing the lean version of the program. I have noticed on the scales, that I am gaining weight. Is anyone else getting these results. I SO do not wan this to happen.

Jamie, muscle weighs more than fat. You are losing fat and gaining muscle. Muscle is metabolically active and burns calories 24 hours a day just to exist. Muscle takes up less space than fat. If one person was 30% body fat and another was 15% body fat and they both weighed the same, the person with the 30% body fat would look fat. Please continue to do the program because it will work. The scale gives you a number that doesn’t tell the whole story.

    Guys, I have a question.

I love to workout and do any sort of physical fitness. I am very intrigued by P90X because everything I hear about it is awesome. My question is if it can get me better than what I am now, and I don’t mean to come off as an asshole in any way at all. Right now I am 5′11 weight 165 and was at 6% body fat about a week and a half ago. I run and or lift 4 days a week, and play soccer or do some other activity on Saturdays. Can P90X get me in better shape than I am now?

    Rich,

How can it be possible to gain 6 lbs of muscle mass in 3 weeks? I started at 122 and the scales now say 128. Is it really that possible? Will I notice a downshift in the scales anytime soon?

My husband and I started the program 5 days ago…we just did the Yoga last night. Some of the moves kick our butts, I have learned to do the modified version of some of the exercises! We are also following the suggested diet. How long will it take to see results?

For those that have had the experience of gaining wt after a period of time on the lean or other programs. Muscle doesn’t develop in that short of a period of time, but what does happen is your appetite will increase due to the increase demand for nutrients. Make sure that you are not cheating on the diet part of the program and in the beginning you may even be a little more strick that the book’s plan.

I just finished my 6th week on the lean program and I can honestly say that this program is great. I had high expectations going into this and it has by far exceeded them. The key for me has been eating a lot of smaller meals and limiting my carb intake at night. The ab ripper x is the icing on the cake if you are just starting out. I was in pretty good shape to begin the program, but I can already see results, especially my ab muscles. I have lost a little bit of weight, but my whole body is gaining definition. If you have any doubts before starting or get frustrated after just beginning, please stick with it because it works!

I have a question Guys and Gals,
Im on the 3rd day of my program. I want to lose weight as well as tone up, but is it unhealthy to do this program and not stick to the diet that is presented in the booklet. For example, does P90x + say weight watchers = unhealthy. I want to lose my belly because I am looking for ripped abs. Is this potentially dangerous?

I am just starting my first recovery week and am confused about the nutrition. The book talks about phase 1, weeks 1, 2 & 3. What do we do for week 4 during the first phase?

I’m noticing many comments around the internet, mostly from women, about gaining on the 1800 cal program while doing P90X. I’m seeing this too, and I know my body well enough to know that this isn’t muscle. And yes, I’m following the nutrition plan, and no, I’m not cheating or oversizing portions. I’m 5′1″, started at 116, am up to 120, a weight I haven’t seen except when pregnant and hitting the peanut-butter-ripple. I’ve been very fit in the past and never this heavy from slabs of muscle. I’m pretty sure muscle don’t jiggle like that, and I’ve got a gut like never before.

I suspect that the program overestimates RMR and calorie burn from the program for women, esp. women over 30 or so. Starting tomorrow I’m going to go back to the eat-till-not-hungry mode, which, on this meal plan, will probably bring me in at about 1400-1500 cals/day. I’m also going to incorporate more fruit and veg than Phase 1 calls for; this much protein just plain does not feel good. 6oz meat in a salad, plus cheese, plus avocado? Too much. Anyway, We’ll see how that does.

My husband and I have been planning our programs for two weeks now (I unfortuantely injurred my elbow so had to sit out another week before starting P90X). I cannot wait to get going on this. I have been battling weight loss for two years since my daughter was born and I feel like this is going to get me where I was before I got pregnant (or even better!)…glad there’s all of this support here :)

I would have to say that the most challenging part of this program is getting the food portions right, but I’ve been praticing this for a week now, so I’m ready to get ripped and burn soem fat!

I am a 48 year old who has not skied Tuckerman Ravine on Mt. Washington since 1997. I decided to attempt this once again at my current age of 48. Skiing Tuckerman Ravine involves carrying a 40 lb pack up 3 miles to the ravine which is just below the summit of Mt Washington. Upon reaching the ravine, one then has to hike the ravine in their ski boots carrying their skies. One then has to still have enough leg strength to then ski the head wall.

I just skied the ravine on May 31st and I used P90X to train for this endeavor. I was thrilled with the results of your workouts. The legs and back and plyometrics workouts prepared my legs beyond my expectations. I felt stronger on this trip to Tuckermans than my previous trip 12 years ago.

Thanks you Tony Horton and P90X.
