Melissa, Now That’s Success!

When Melissa’s boyfriend Craig came to her with P90X and asked if she wanted to join him in a workout, she was apprehensive. She knew she needed to make a lifestyle change, but P90x – that’s insane!  He reassured her and suggested they support each other and hold one another accountable until they completed the program (people helping people!).

That was one year ago. P90X turned out to be so insane – insanely good – Melissa has since completed three rounds and recently hit her 60-day mark for P90X:2.

“It’s like Core Synergistics on crack,” she says about P90X:2. (Careful Melissa, Tony may steal that line.)

Talking to Melissa about her journey was inspirational, you can just hear the confidence resonating with every word. Plus, she has some great tips for staying motivated… check it out, in her own words.

When I started I couldn’t do a lot of the things I can now. I couldn’t do Ab-Ripper X. I would have to modify it and lean over to the side. I put my feet under the couch to help. I struggled a lot in the first 30 days and didn’t lose a lot of weight. But I stuck with it. I really adhered to everything – the nutrition plan, the full workouts, even if I could barely move by the end, I finished them. I had a chalkboard before we started and I wrote a big 90 on the board. Every day I finished a workout I would go and erase that number. It was one thing that really kept me going.

I am so proud of what I’ve accomplished with P90x and Beachbody. I am feeling healthier than I have in my entire life. I even bought a bathing suit this year – I don’t think I bought a bathing suit in my entire 20s! I don’t plan on ever going back and living the way I was before P90x. This is going to be a long-term thing for me.

Melissa is another real-life example of our great programs being combined with hard work and dedication. She is now paying it forward as a Team Beachbody Coach and helping people see results the way she has.

Is P90X Too Time Consuming?

I was reading some reviews of P90X, I came across this one which happens to be a con: “Its time-consuming. The videos are at minimum an hour, the yoga is a full 90 mins. It can take an hour with start-up and cool-down time. I have a wife and young child, and without the leeway I get to be a bit late in the morning to work I don’t know how I’d be able to fit this program in to my schedule “

One of my “cons” with P90X also happened to be the amount of time. After a week or two, I got used to the workouts would fast forward through Tony Horton’s chit-chat and start exercising before the people on screen did. This would shave 20 minutes off.

So what do you do? Relax and enjoy the ride or keep the remote handy to get the same workout in less time? Let me know…
