It’s In Writing: My P90X Running Hybrid Plan for Next Week!

Okay, everyone, here is my P90X running hybrid plan for the week ahead – August 20th – 26th.  Today’s long run was good and I want both enough P90X workouts and enough running workouts for the week, so I changed things up some.  Please know that I am only doing 40:00 of the P90X workouts and the way that I do that is to do reps and then press “Next” on the DVD remote.  I am also doing easy 20:00 runs a few hours later to get in some more mileage.

Monday:  P90X Core Synergistics – 5:00 am
Running – 20:00 – 8:00 am

Tuesday:  Running – 40:00 – 8:00 am

Wednesday:  P90X Chest, Shoulders & Triceps – 5:00 am
Running – 20:00 – 8:00 am

Thursday:  Running – 40:00 – 8:00 am

Friday:  P90X Shoulders & Arms – 5:00 am
Running – 20:00 – 8:00 am

Saturday:  Recovery day

Sunday:  Running – 60:00 – 6:00 am

Join me if you can in the Team Beachbody SuperGym.  I’ll leave the door open for you!

Call Me Crazy But I Am Challenging You To Join Me!

Or, just know that, like everyone else, I am watching the Olympics and getting inspired by everything that I am seeing and hearing.  Who wouldn’t be, with the greatest athletes from virtually every nation in the world competing to be the best in the world and the best that they can be.

On Friday night before I got glued to the TV watching the Olympics, we took the girls swimming on $ .25 night at a local high school pool. We had a blast and I ended up doing walking laps (it is between 3 – 4 ft. deep) with Grace on my back and pulling Carly in her tube and racing another parent. That was the fun part. Then I realized how debilitating my back pain is because it really hurt trying to get out of the pool with no ladders. That was the impetus I needed to start doing another round of P90X and doing it as a hybrid with running. Running has been like breathing for me and I can manage the pain when I run, but I need the variety of workouts that P90X offers, including Yoga X, to either lessen or eliminate my back pain and give my more flexibility. I’ve already scheduled in all of my workouts for the week so there is no going back!

So if a 61 year old with debilitating back pain can start another round of P90X, what’s your excuse not to?  What is it, that you are watching the Olympics and can’t start until after?  Or that you are doing P90X2 or that you aren’t in shape to do P90X?  Most of you certainly can’t use the excuse that you are too old because most people are younger than me.

Here’s an excuse buster.  I am going to make this a Tony Horton Challenge and it doesn’t matter if you are doing P90X, Power 90, Tony & the Folks or any Tony Horton workout in between.  Let’s just do it and have the fun and camaraderie that comes with it!  I will post my workouts here and if you want to do it with a group, I am going to mention it to my members in my Team TOPSTONE Facebook group and see if I can get them motivated to join in.

Today I did P90X Ab Ripper X with my iPhone app and that was the first time that I had ever done that.  Tomorrow morning at 6:00 am Mountain Time I have Chest & Back scheduled in the SuperGym if you want to join me! Did I mention the $500.00 Daily Sweepstakes prize?
